Ford Lake is frozen solid, so we’re going to meet at North Hydro Park in Ypsilanti, instead.
Parking is on Ambassador Dr. at the end of the street (click for map). The N. Hydro Park main entrance on Bridge Rd. is closed for the winter, but the park is accessible from trails to the north. It is gorgeous here, with high cliffs towering over the river, where waterfowl abound. Bring scopes if you have them, and wear sturdy winter boots. Dress for cold weather. The trails are passable but unplowed.
