Antarctica: Penguins, Whales, Seals, and Covid

May 17, 2023 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Join Andrew Sturgess in-person at the UM Matthaei Botanical Gardens auditorium for the a program on one of the world’s most beautiful and remote birding destinations, the frozen continent of Antarctica. In addition to its fabulous avifauna, including albatrosses, skuas, prions, and penguins, Antarctica also is home to whales and seals. Besides the sometimes heavy seas of the Drake Passage, Andrew had to battle a case of Covid that almost prevented his trip.

Andrew Sturgess is a keen birder and photographer.

This program is free and open to the public. Membership is not required. The program is at the UM Matthaei Botanical Gardens auditorium. There is no Zoom broadcast.
