Winter Tree Identification Walk

Want to learn the difference between a hickory and a hackberry? How about a beech from a basswood? Did you know oak species are pretty easy to distinguish from their bark? Join us for an interactive winter hike to learn to ID common Michigan trees with their bark, buds and twigs! As always, we will share interesting ecological information and paint a holistic picture of this ecosystem.

Directions: Meet at the south Newport Rd trailhead in the parking lot. There is an AAATA bus stop and bike racks near the entrance.
