SUMMARY:Juneteenth Bird Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a morning walk as we celebrate Juneteenth! We will start at the playground in Wheeler Park\, located in a historically Black neighborhood and named after Ann Arbor’s first Black mayor\, Albert Wheeler. \nWe will walk around the park to learn some of the history of the park and then head across the street to Bluffs Nature Area to explore. Everyone and all ages are welcome. Bring binoculars if you have them. We will have extra pairs if you need some. \nDirections: Meet at Wheeler Park playground\, 200 Depot Street\, Ann Arbor \nLeader: Victor Chen \n  \nAll are welcome and encouraged to join us. New to birding? Bird curious? No binoculars? No problem! There is no better way to learn than to get out in the field with experienced birders that love to help. Plus\, you get to meet awesome people. Absolutely everyone is welcome and encouraged to come out. Don is a longtime member of the Washtenaw Bird and Nature Alliance\, a former president\, and popular speaker and field trip leader. He set a number of past Washtenaw County Big Day records. Don cleverly spends the winter months at his other home in Florida. \n  \nA live stream of this event will be available at the AADL website approximately one hour prior to the start.  \n
